10 am - 1 pm at Sparkle Lake

Kids from 5-14 years old, grab your drop line or fishing pole along with your hooks and head to Sparkle Lake for a Fishing Derby.  Award certificates will be given out for various categories. Bait is available from the Recreation Department. Charge: $5/participant. Eligibility: Children ages 5 to 14. Children under 9 years old must be accompanied by an adult. Preregister at Recreation Office 245-4650.

Directions: From Route 35/202 heading east from the Triangle Shopping Center, turn left on Broad Street. Go 1.3 mile to the parking area by Sparkle Lake.
